TAS has launched "TAS Transport Briefing", a new weblog or blog providing comment and analysis on public transport matters.

Bus viability in doubt as profits fall again

TAS has expressed concern about the future viability of the UK bus industry, following research which shows that industry profit levels have fallen to their lowest levels since 1993

New rail report shows another drop in profits

The new 2007 Rail Industry Monitor report shows that profit levels amongst the UK''s privatised train operators fell in 2005/06 for the second year in a row. The report also finds that rail investment is now over £4 billion behind the Government''s 10-Year Plan.

Park and Ride "saves 34 million car journeys"

The results of a new survey by TAS suggest that 46 million passengers a year are now taking advantage of bus and light rail-based park and ride facilities at 135 sites in 60 towns and cities, reducing congestion and pollution.
